Sketchbook 8: Farming in France / Living in Boston, MA, 2012–14

For two months, I spent every day with farmers, neighbors, cats, dogs, goats, frogs, cows, chickens, hens, a donkey, and a guinea pig named Biscuit. Observational drawing became a quiet and contemplative activity that I could do whenever I had some time to myself. At those points, during travel or after the goats were milked but the sun hadn't set, visually processing my surroundings was a source of comfort and reflection.
