Bug juice

A nice fresh pitcher of iced homemade Gatorade. Or as it was called in the Misura household, 'bug juice' (catch-all name for any cold summer drink served in a pitcher). Grandpa Andy used this recipe because he didn't want to pay for something he could make for free (Depression kid), but needed to rehydrate/replenish his salt/sugar after a hard morning of tending to his jungle-garden in 100° heat. He used fresh key limes (literal fruits of his labor) to flavor the drink.

I have his hand written recipe framed. Today would have been his 94th birthday.
