Pre-holiday projects
The holiday season so far has been crazy. So many projects all of the sudden and I ended up having to left some of them go. But here are the ones I actually got to:
Portrait of my former manager's cat, Cookie, as a going-away present. She is leaving the company after 12 years.
Portrait of Chris's brother and sister-in-law. This is done on the back of of folded pice of paper with his Best Man speech written on it, which Chris used to read aloud during their wedding rehearsal dinner.
Holiday card. This is my mom and my aunt, who is crying in the snow because her mittens got wet. In the background you can see Grandma Rose chuckling to herself. I liked that this reflected some of the grumpiness of the holiday season but how we look back at those times fondly.
Portraits of my brother/my brother and dad, based on photos from the early 90s
Birthday card for my coworker, Katie. This was my first time using embossing powder.
My burned hand. I was doing some crafting at a birthday/holiday gathering and accidentally spilled a bunch of hot glue onto my hand. The only thing to do was pull it off, and well, you can guess what happened.
Adding to the story's chapter outline. I've been assembling this since August with color-coded post-its and it's really coming together.
Some progress on a pass-through on one of the final chapters, inspired by my recent hospital trip and some of the grief I've been experiencing the last few years/months.
Relieved to finally be at my parents' house without much more to do but wrap gifts!
