My paternal grandfather used to live not too far from Tampa, in a retirement community in Port Richey called Timber Oaks. We used to spend a few days with him each summer, swimming in the neighborhood pool and feeding the turtles at Footprint Lake. This was before I had anything more than a point-and-shoot film camera. Since then, we have mostly just passed through Tampa for weddings: one in 2010, after which we attended a Tampa Bay Rays game, and another in 2021, during which we got some nice views of the Tampa Riverwalk and University of Tampa campus from our hotel facing the river.
